North Carolina

Behind its scenic Appalachian landscape, North Carolina is growing more vulnerable to extreme weather caused by climate change. And yet, utility companies continue to build out fossil fuel projects like methane gas plants across the state, which directly contribute to the climate crisis.

The good news is North Carolina has a plan, literally. It’s the only state in the Southeast with a legislated “Carbon Plan” aimed at reducing carbon emissions. Not only does the Tar Heel State already have enough installed solar to power over a million homes, but it’s North Carolina is also an integral part of the country’s electric vehicle supply chain, providing hundreds of thousands of EV manufacturing jobs to drive our clean energy future.
