Hurricanes that have devastated inland mountain communities, unprecedented droughts that add fuel to wildfires, extreme storms that put millions at risk of losing valuable electricity. The growing frequency of extreme weather is threatening communities across the Southeast, from its sunny coasts to its lush forests, in big cities and small towns. To ensure clean, safe, and healthy communities throughout the Southeast, SACE is committed to reducing the carbon pollution that’s fueling climate change by:
- Encouraging the development of clean, renewable energy resources like solar, battery storage, and wind
- Advancing markets and infrastructure for clean transportation technologies like electric cars, trucks, buses, and chargers
- Fighting utility’s efforts to expand dirty, costly, and dangerous fossil fuels like methane gas plants and pipelines
- Promoting energy efficiency options for consumers and in utility planning to reduce energy demand
- Engaging citizens and local governments across the Southeast about how to advocate for and implement clean energy choices for healthier communities
