Woman tapped for TVA board

In this mention

The Clinton administration nominated U.S. Department of Energy official Skila Harris to a vacant Tennessee Valley Authority board seat, making her the first woman to serve on TVA's board. Stephen Smith, executive director of the Tennessee Valley Energy Reform Coalition, praised the nomination as a step toward diversity on the historically male-dominated board. Harris previously served on an Energy Department advisory board examining TVA's position during electric power deregulation.

I like the idea of breaking the white stranglehold white men have had on the board since 1933. I think diversity is appropriate.

Stephen A. Smith
