TYBEE ISLAND, GA (WTOC) - Wind energy supporters rallied Friday on Tybee Island.
They said that's exactly why the island would be a great place to make clean energy. The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy and the Sierra Club hosted the wind rally. Their key message - wind energy creates jobs.
"We are excited to be out here on Tybee Island where we have some great wind resources to take advantage of," said Anna Smit of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy.
"The whole answer to meeting the needs of the future is going to be to continue to diversify the mix of clean energy," said Steve Oppenheimer, a Georgia Public Service Commission candidate.
Hundreds turned out to enjoy the live music and to hear from speakers talk about the future of wind energy.
