UT Hosts Environmental Conference
Students from across the southeast are here in Knoxville to fight global warming.
Roughly 300 students from eight states are here to attend seminars and learn about renewable energy.
Most importantly, the students are learning about how to create energy practices and policies that'll slow global warming.
This is all part of UT's Environmental Semester, which hopes to teach UT students how to take care of the environment.
Workers with the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy say educating our college students on global warming is important.
"The dirty energy cycles of today are harming the generations of the future. They're polluting our air and making us unhealthy, as well as our natural world, so the students of today are working very hard to phase out the fossil fuel technologies of yesterday, and bring in renewable energy technologies," campus organizer Nick Algee explains.
