TVA's Clean Answer Is Blowing in the Wind

TVA has agreed to contract with California-based EnXco Inc. to install three 290-foot wind turbines atop Lookout Mountain at Covenant College, marking the first utility-scale wind power project in the Southeast. The $3 million pilot project is part of TVA's new green power marketing initiative, which will allow customers to pay a premium for renewable energy. Dr. Stephen Smith of the Tennessee Valley Energy Reform Coalition praised the project as the most important renewable energy effort by any utility in the Southeast.

This is a small, but very important start. This is the most important effort of any utility in the Southeast to promote the use of renewable energy.
