TVA audit trims cost of pollution control contract

In this mention

The Tennessee Valley Authority reduced a $147 million pollution-control contract with Alstom Power by $12.4 million following an audit by the agency's inspector general. The controls will reduce nitrogen oxide emissions at 18 coal-fired power plant units across seven states by 75 percent. Stephen Smith of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy praised TVA's nitrogen oxide reduction efforts but expressed disappointment with TVA's appeal of federal sulfur dioxide emission reduction orders.

We think that they are doing the right things and providing some leadership ... in controlling nitrogen oxide
