Tennessee finds place in the sun
In this mention
Tennessee is attracting major solar manufacturing investments, with Wacker Chemie AG announcing a $1 billion polysilicon plant in Bradley County and Hemlock Semiconductor planning a similar facility in Clarksville. Governor Bredesen positions Tennessee as a potential 'Silicon Valley' for solar energy, though Stephen Smith of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy notes that the state's congressional delegation and TVA are not doing enough to promote renewable energy adoption.
Gov. Bredesen is talking about creating 'green-collar' jobs, and he is making it happen. But ironically and sadly our delegation and primary utility (TVA) isn't doing much to promote renewable energy.
