Switch to Green Power!

Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) invites you to choose a cleaner environment by choosing green power on Earth Day 2001! SACE is a non-profit organization based in Knoxville that works to promote cleaner air, greener energy, and smarter energy use. This Earth Day, we ask you to join the thousands of other citizens across the Southeast who have made the choice to purchase clean, renewable energy through Green Power Switch.

Many people do not realize that our electricity currently comes primarily from a non-renewable source. Burning coal, which produces several pollutants, creates 63% of our energy. On Earth Day 2000, an energy revolution began in the Southeast when TVA and its participating utility distributors started offering Green Power Switch. This program is the first accredited clean, renewable energy program in the Southeast. Through it, citizens can choose to pay for a portion of their electricity to come from the renewable, environmentally friendly sources of wind, solar and landfill gas power. So far, nearly 1500 Knoxville residents have signed up to voice their concern for our environment and help to make it cleaner by purchasing blocks of Green Power Switch.

You Can Make A Difference.

You too can choose a cleaner environment by choosing to participate in Green Power Switch. Contact KUB or Southern Alliance for Clean Energy to sign up for the program. Green power is sold in blocks of 150 kWh, each of which adds a $4 charge to your monthly power bill. You can choose as many or as few of these blocks as you would like, and every block purchased helps to spread clean, renewable energy across Tennessee and the rest of the Southeast.
