Supply chain woes may cloud future of some TVA solar additions

TVA and other utilities face delays in solar installations due to supply chain constraints, trade investigations into Chinese solar panel imports, and rising costs. TVA President Jeff Lyash reported that some projects have been delayed by up to a year and costs have jumped by up to 50%, though the utility remains committed to its 10,000-megawatt solar goal. Stephen Smith of SACE noted that while supply chain disruptions are slowing future solar build-out, existing solar capacity continues to perform well.
The renewable energy industry has been hit by supply chain interruptions just like everybody else. It's an issue of slowing down the future build-out because of supply chain problems but it is not disrupting existing capacity. There are no moving parts with solar and the existing capacity is performing well.
