Small, distributed generation could change TVA's power pricing model

In this mention

TVA is studying how distributed solar and wind generation could reshape its traditional centralized power model and pricing structure. Stephen Smith of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy notes that as renewable costs decline, distributed energy could fundamentally transform electricity delivery. The Solar Electric Power Association is facilitating a regional stakeholder group called DG-IV to develop valuation methods for distributed generation and grid services.

As solar generation gets cheaper and the cost of other forms of power production go up, distributed energy could dramatically change the traditional utility model for electricity delivery
