SC lawmakers to study whether to overhaul state's power grid and electric utilities

South Carolina lawmakers have established a committee to study potential overhauls to the state's electric utility industry, including the possibility of creating a regional transmission organization (RTO) to introduce competition and accelerate renewable energy adoption.
