SACE to hold wind power webinar
Somebody needs to invent a process that can capture a thunderstorm, suck all the wind out of it before it can generate tornadoes, and channel that into producing electricity for a power grid. We could fight the effects of violent weather plus have a fantastic source of green energy. Okay, enough daydreaming. The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) is hosting a webinar from 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, to explore the realities of wind energy. The seminar aims to explode myths about wind energy and SACE member Simon Mahan will address such issues as wind energy variability, costs and environmental impacts. SACE cites a U.S. Dept. of Energy study that says wind energy could be used to supply up to 20 percent of the nation's electricity by 2030.
