SACE: Stan Wise sings tired song in D.C. about energy
In this mention
Stephen Smith, executive director of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, criticized Georgia Public Service Commissioner Stan Wise's testimony to Congress that Georgia lacks sufficient wind, solar, and biomass resources to meet proposed renewable energy standards. Smith countered that Georgia has abundant renewable resources and accused Wise of serving utility interests rather than advancing clean energy development in the Southeast.
Unfortunately, Mr. Stan Wise is doing the bidding for Southern power companies. We have heard yet another refrain of the South's tired song when it comes to renewable energy production: 'The sun don't shine, the wind don't blow and the trees don't grow here.'
Stephen A. Smith
