Renewable energy group challenges Mississippi Power plan that sidelines solar

The Southern Renewable Energy Association challenged Mississippi Power's integrated resource plan for excluding solar from resource selection until 2027 and most scenarios until 2032, despite solar costs of $20/MWh being significantly lower than existing fossil generation at $51.70/MWh. SREA identified 16 deficiencies in the plan and called on Mississippi regulators to reject it. The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy also filed comments on the resource plan focused on demand-side management issues.
