NRC favors extensions for Browns Ferry units
In this mention
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued a final environmental impact statement finding no environmental reasons to prevent Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant from operating an additional 20 years. Stephen Smith, executive director of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, criticized the NRC's decision, arguing that the lack of a national nuclear waste repository makes the license extension environmentally problematic.
