A report released Tuesday proposes a nation-wide green movement that would create two million jobs. 28,000 of those jobs would be right here in South Carolina. The South Carolina Wildlife Federation, Conservation Voters of South Carolina, Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, and Audubon South Carolina came together to go over the report titled, "Green Recovery—A Program to Create Good Jobs and Start Building a Low-Carbon Economy." The report outlines a way to create these jobs within two years without spending more money to get them. The goal is to create more jobs and still spend the same amount of money within the oil industry. The $100 billion investment would combine tax credits and money from public and private investments. The report was done by the Political Economy Research Institute (PERI) at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. To read the entire report, click here.
