New life for Bellefonte?

In this mention

TVA and local officials debate whether to complete the mothballed Bellefonte Nuclear Plant in Alabama, which has cost $4.6 billion and remains 14 years idle. Chattanooga financier Franklin Haney proposes a public-private partnership to finish the plant within five years, while Stephen Smith of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy argues it is a wasteful white elephant that would contaminate another site with radioactive waste when the Southeast already has excess energy capacity.

Bellefonte is a white elephant around TVA's neck. TVA continues to want to go back to its old way of thinking and try to force these nuclear plants down the throats of ratepayers whether we need them or not. The Southeast is awash with energy, and we just don't need to contaminate another site with radioactive wastes.
