A Community Forum is being held to discuss the Gulf Oil Spill crisis Thursday night at the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, on the Rickenbacker Causeway. Titled 'From Crisis to Solutions,' it starts at 6.30pm and runs until 8.30pm, featuring several speakers, including Robert Cowen, associate Dean of Research at the Rosenstiel School, Carlos Espinosa, Director of Miami-Dade County's Department for Environmental Resources Management, Ana Cecilia Velasco from the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce, Samantha Whitcraft of Oceanic defense, Chris Holland an attorney specializing in environmental issues, Adriana Quintero from the Natural Resources Defense Council, Lance Orchid of the Alliance of Climate protection, and David Adams, editor of Poder Hispanic magazine (and KeyBiscayneTimes.com).
Moderated by Susan Glickman, one of the state's leading clean energy activists, the evening will be divided into two parts looking first at the Gulf oil spill disaster, and then at energy solutions.
