KUB Reforms Proposed

In this mention

Knoxville City Council is considering a charter amendment referendum to reform the governance of the Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB), including changes to commissioner selection and term limits. The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, along with Appalachian Voices, One Knox Legacy Coalition, and SOCM, developed the proposal through their "ACT on KUB" campaign. SACE executive director Dr. Stephen Smith stated that KUB has drifted from its public mission and that reforms are necessary to improve accountability, cost savings, and transparency.

We think KUB has drifted from its public mission. These reforms are targeted at the board structure.
