Judge Says Kids' Climate Lawsuit Is For Florida Politicians To Decide

A Leon County circuit judge dismissed a climate lawsuit filed by eight young Florida plaintiffs against the state, ruling the matter a political question outside judicial purview. The plaintiffs, ages 12-22, alleged the state violates their constitutional rights by perpetuating a fossil-fuel-based energy system. Susan Glickman, Florida director of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, helped recruit one of the plaintiffs, 17-year-old Valholly Frank, to join the case.
