Hartsville in running for nuclear fuel plant

Louisiana Energy Services is considering the abandoned Hartsville Nuclear Plant site in Trousdale County, Tennessee, as one of two finalists for a $1.1 billion uranium enrichment facility. Dr. Stephen Smith of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy opposes the project, citing economic and environmental concerns and warning against locating a nuclear facility on previously unused land rather than a contaminated brownfield site.

I think people in Middle Tennessee ought to be up in arms.
