Florida utility on pace to reach 93 GW solar, 50 GW storage by 2045

Florida Power & Light is deploying solar and storage at an ambitious scale, with plans to reach 93 GW of solar and 50 GW of storage by 2045, according to SACE executive director Stephen Smith. SACE released its 'Solar in the Southeast' report showing utilities across the region added 5 GW of solar last year, though many utilities remain hesitant about solar deployment and continue to favor natural gas for meeting data center load growth.
We applaud that level of ambition because it's tied to the seriousness of the crisis we're up against, with climate change and climate disruption.
