Florida set to eclipse North Carolina in installed solar capacity – report

According to SACE's fourth annual 'Solar in the Southeast' report, Florida is expected to surpass North Carolina in installed solar capacity in 2021, with total Southeast solar capacity projected to more than double from 12,696 MW in 2020 to 27,500 MW by end of 2024. Duke Energy represents about 40% of Southeast solar, while Georgia is also poised to surpass North Carolina by 2024 due to increased solar-favorable policy and Southern Co.'s expansion plans.
