Five environmental groups ask judge to revoke Duke's permit

In this mention

Five environmental groups, including the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, filed an appeal asking a judge to revoke Duke Energy's air-quality permit for an 800-megawatt coal-fired power generator under construction in Western North Carolina. The groups argue the permit violates federal court rulings on mercury emissions control and fails to adequately regulate emissions that will contribute to global warming and regional health problems. Duke maintains the permit is legal and the facility will use advanced clean-coal technology.

We think that this permit is not only unacceptable and irresponsible, but also illegal
