Emissions bill up in the air

In this mention

An article examining proposed federal cap-and-trade legislation to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from coal-fired power plants, including TVA's Colbert Fossil Plant in Alabama. Stephen Smith, executive director of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, argues that predicted electricity cost increases of $2 per month are manageable and that the legislation would create jobs and clean the air, countering claims from opponents including Rep. Parker Griffith and Sen. Richard Shelby that the bill would harm the economy and increase energy costs.

The Congressional Budget office and EPA predict the cost of electricity for most households will increase about $2 per month. This is not going to break the bank, but it is going to clean the air. A lot of people are running around trying to scare people by predicting huge increases in the price of energy.
