Duke reaches Save-A-Watt settlement

In this mention

Consumer and environmental advocates, led by the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, reached a settlement with Duke Energy Carolinas on its Save-A-Watt energy-efficiency program. The agreement increases energy conservation targets to 2 percent over four years with an 8 percent goal by 2020, while capping Duke's potential profits. SACE executive director Steve Smith emphasized the group's focus on ensuring the program delivers significant reductions in actual energy use rather than merely shifting peak-demand consumption.

his group's concern from the beginning was to make sure Save-A-Watt resulted in significant reductions in energy use
