Charlotte launched Carolina Carshare, an electric vehicle rideshare program at Peppertree Apartments in east Charlotte, offering residents $5/hour EV rentals as part of a national initiative by Forth. The program, the first of its kind in the Southeast, was established after the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy asked Charlotte to partner with the Affordable Mobility Platform. The city plans to expand the program to three additional affordable housing locations.
