Bush's TVA board nominees are big political donors

In this mention

President Bush's five nominees to the Tennessee Valley Authority board are all major political donors with combined contributions of at least $296,250 to Republican candidates since 1990, but lack utility or environmental experience. Stephen Smith, executive director of the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, criticized the nominations as appearing to prioritize political connections over qualifications. The article examines concerns from Democratic lawmakers and industry groups about the nominees' lack of relevant expertise.

We are concerned this appears to be more of a Who's Who list for the Republican Party than it does a list of people who are going to bring experience and wisdom to the TVA board
