Adam Putnam on high-speed rail, renewable energy and the art of compromising
In this mention
Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam discusses his renewable energy proposals and admits that much of his 12-point plan has not materialized. Susan Glickman, Florida director for the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, comments on the state's lack of progress in solar energy adoption and the need to keep energy dollars within Florida rather than exporting them for fuel.
The state has not gone far enough to encourage the use of homegrown renewable energy. We send close to $60 billion dollars out of state to buy fuel from elsewhere in order to create jobs in Florida. We need to keep those energy dollars here at home.
