The introduction for this month’s Wired-In is very simple: Vote! Please make sure your friends and family vote, and do everything you can to help people get to the polls.
Each of the articles highlighted this month is tied to decisions made by the elected officials we vote for, and your vote now is important in determining who those people are, what they will stand for, and whose interests they will put first. The key races for the Georgia Public Service Commission will have a tremendous impact on energy affordability, on whether utility companies like Georgia Power side with data centers over people, and on how much Georgians’ power bills will cost in the future.
Solar programs in our communities are on the line, their fate decided by the people we elect. Large mergers of investor-owned utilities, such as NextEra and Dominion, will decide if even more political power falls in the hands of massive, centralized power companies, and those decisions are made by who we vote for. Even choices about what government fleets look like, whether electric or fossil-powered, come down to elected officials.
You get my point. Vote!

Check out our Where the Candidates Stand 2026 series to see where candidates in closely watched races stand on clean energy, data centers, and lower utility bills, then join the Clean Energy Generation movement to keep taking action long after the polls close. Whatever happens on Election Day, our momentum doesn’t end. A cleaner, more affordable energy future is built by people who show up, again and again, and together, we will.
