Alex is originally from East Tennessee and joined SACE in 2026. As Special Projects Coordinator, she will be working on projects related to research and education in Earth System Science along with how SACE’s work advocating for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from energy production and use leads to a healthier Earth system.
Alex earned a BS in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville and a Master’s of Natural Resources Management from Virginia Tech. She worked as a public-school science teacher which informed much of her work ethic and desire to educate specifically on topics around clean energy and climate change. After completing her Master’s degree, she transitioned into working in the environmental nonprofit space.
In her free time, Alex loves trying to cook new recipes, traveling with her husband, and hiking.
