As part of the Clean Energy Generation webinar series, SACE’s Executive Director, Dr. Stephen A. Smith, offered a virtual tour of the clean energy technologies in his home on Wednesday, October 25 at 1:30 ET. Steve shared how his family has made modifications and upgrades to his Knoxville home over the past several years to minimize energy usage while maximizing cost savings on their monthly energy bills. By taking gradual steps to integrate energy efficiency, solar and storage, charging for electric vehicles, and managing when his family uses energy the most, Steve showed how homes can run on clean energy and be microcosms of what large utilities achieve.
Also during the webinar, SACE’s Climate Advocacy Director Chris Carnevale and Climate Advocacy Coordinator Cary Ritzler discussed what the “Clean Energy Generation” movement is all about, how it’s already driving real change in our communities in the Southeast, and how anyone can play a role, no matter your age, abilities, income, or zip code.
The Clean Energy Generation is motivated by what our daily lives, communities, country, and planet will look like when clean energy replaces decades of dirty pollution from fossil fuels. We are working together for communities powered by clean energy with good jobs, clean air and water, clean transportation, a stable climate, and affordable bills, where all of us can thrive.
