Capitol Electric Vehicle Day in Atlanta, GA
EV Day on the Capitol is an opportunity for Georgia citizens to talk with state representatives about the economic importance of clean, electric transportation — for our families, our communities, our health, and our future energy security. Join electric vehicle owners and enthusiasts to share information about electric vehicles with legislators on Thursday, March 7th, 2019 from 9 am to 2 pm.
There are more than 20,000 registered EVs on Georgia’s roads today, but this is less than one percent of all our cars. EVs are becoming more affordable as battery prices continue to drop and more auto manufacturers make commitments to increase their EV production. However, purchase incentives and a reduction in current disincentives for EVs and charging infrastructure are imperative for Georgians to keep pace with the rest of the U.S. and upgrade to driving electric.
EV Day on the Capitol begins with a 9 am citizen briefing in room 510 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building. Supporting organizations will guide attendees on how to talk effectively with legislators. The press conference will follow at 1:00 pm at the Georgia Capitol Building, South Wing. All are welcome to attend and show support for electric vehicles.
The following organizations are hosting and/or supporting EV Day at the Capitol: Clean Cities Georgia; Environment Georgia; EV Club of the South; EV Hybrid Noire; Plug In America; Sierra Club – GA Chapter; Southface; Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance; Southern Alliance for Clean Energy; Southern Environmental Law Center; The Ray; SemaConnect and many more.
