TVA Coal Plant Retirements on LER
Dr. Stephen A. Smith, Executive Director of Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, appeared on Local Edge Radio to discuss the recent settlement between the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and the EPA. Due to violations of the Clean Air Act at their coal plants, TVA agreed to retire 18 coal units. Dr. Smith discusses the history of the lawsuit and the potential for TVA to retire additional coal units in the near future.
