The fifth annual “Transportation Electrification in the Southeast” report, prepared by Atlas Public Policy in partnership with Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE), analyzes the data underlying the electric vehicle (EV) market in SACE’s six-state region from July 2023 to June 2024. The data reveals a continuation of growth trends across six indicators: manufacturing investments, anticipated jobs, EV sales, charging infrastructure deployment, utility investments, and public funding.
On Wednesday, December 11 at 11:00 AM ET, report authors and contributors from Atlas Public Policy and SACE will host a virtual roundtable to discuss the state of the EV market and look ahead to 2025. Roundtable participants and topics include:
- Jennifer Mundt from NC Commerce to discuss North Carolina’s success in attracting EV investments and jobs
- Alexa Voytek from TN DEC to discuss Tennessee’s NEVI success toward statewide fast charger deployment
- Stephanie Valdez Streaty from Cox Automotive to discuss the dynamic consumer market and consumer behavior
- Brad Beauchamp from Blue Bird to discuss the increasing demand for electric school buses in Southeast school districts leveraging funding from EPA’s Clean School Bus Program
- Nick Nigro from Atlas Public Policy to provide national context for Southeast data and the impact of federal legislation on the market
- Stan Cross from the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy to facilitate discussion
We will also feature a pre-recorded video from Congressman Buddy Carter, representing GA’s District 1, where Hyundai is building its EV and battery plant. Carter is a continued advocate for the Inflation Reduction Act’s role in spurring clean energy investments and job growth.
For those who are unable to tune into the live webinar, a recording, the report, and the report’s companion blog post will be sent to registrants.
