The State of TVA’s Coal Fleet

In April 2011 TVA took two monumental steps toward their goal of being a leader in clean energy. The TVA Board of Directors approved a 20-year vision that anticipated shrinking reliance on coal power. Immediately thereafter the Board also approved a far reaching legal settlement that set up a very specific framework for making decisions between closing coal plants or investing billions of dollars to keep operating outdated coal plants.
