Statement on American Clean Energy & Security Act

Last week, Chairmen Henry Waxman and Ed Markey of the House Energy and Commerce Committee introduced the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009. This plan to promote renewable energy and address climate change lays out an important framework for changing the way we produce and consume energy. However, as currently written, this legislation leaves too much unchanged at a time when we must transform our economy with clean, renewable energy and put strong limits on our nation’s global warming pollution.
