The US Southeast: Ground Zero for Sea Level Rise

Southern Alliance for Clean Energy is pleased to host this month’s Southeast Coastal Climate Network webinar. Dr. Ben Strauss, C.O.O. and Director of the Sea Level Rise Program of Climate Central, will present findings from his recent research on sea level rise and storm surge threats to population and housing in Southeast cities, counties and states, and put the results in a national context for the first time. Dr. Strauss will also give a brief tour of Climate Central’s Surging Seas online tool, which encapsulates these results andallows users to see local maps, risk statistics, and enhanced flood risk timelines by entering a zip code. Finally Dr. Strauss will touch onfuture plans for work in the field of sea level rise.
