Visualizing Sea Level Rise, Storm Surge and Solutions: Florida Keys Coastal Resilience Tool

More than ninety percent of the Florida Keys’ land area is less than 5 feet above sea level and within a mile of the shore, meaning great vulnerability to storm surges and sea level rise. The Florida Keys Future Scenarios Map tool enables elected officials, nature resource managers, planners, and homeowners to visualize the impacts of storm surge and sea level rise. It helps define these challenges and can facilitate solutions-oriented discussion. Join guest presenter Chris Bergh, Florida Keys Program Director at The Nature Conservancy, for a demonstration of the tool’s features and exploration of its existing and potential uses for our vulnerable coastal environments here in the Southeast.
