RES Support Letter to Congressional Leadership
The Southeast’s widely available and diverse renewable energy resources have been ignored for too long. As Congress considers a national Renewable Electricity Standard (RES), more than 3,200 of the Southeast’s leading renewable energy business owners, developers, experts and advocates sent a letter to the leaders of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives asking them to pass an RES that requires utilities to provide 25 percent of their electricity from renewable sources by 2025. The Southeast has vast potential to redeploy manufacturing infrastructure and a skilled labor workforce in putting us on the path to energy independence through clean, renewable energy technology.Southeast_RES_Letter.pdf
