Petition: End Nuclear Loan Guarantees

Over 180 organizations, including SACE, urged the House and Senate Appropriations Committees to end federal loan guarantees for new nuclear reactors.$8.3 billion has already been conditionally offered to Southern Company for the two reactors they have proposed to build at Plant Vogtle, and President Obama has recently requested an additional $36 billion. This would more than double the amount of money in the program, bringing it to $56 billion.
