How Climate Change Threatens the Utility Sector and How We Create Resilience

The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) continues its webinar series with a presentation on a new Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) report entitled “Power Failure, How Climate Change Puts Our Electricity at Risk – and What We Can Do.”

In this webinar, SACE staff will be joined by UCS to discuss how we can bridge the traditional divide between silos of “mitigation” and “adaptation,” particularly by utilizing clean energy as a tool for increased climate resiliency. Many power plants in the Southeast and our energy infrastructure are threatened by climate change and extreme weather. Increasing utilization of clean energy and smart programs is a win-win way to create resilience in our energy sector and diversify our energy mix with cleaner options.
