Tallahassee, Fla., (April 4, 2014) – Floridians throughout the state, including students from Florida’s largest universities, will be mobilizing for the Solar Uprising Rally at the State Capitol to demand that the legislature and the governor act to unlock solar power development in the Sunshine State. While Florida has the best solar power potential east of the Mississippi, it lags far behind other states in recent solar energy development and is the largest state in the nation without any comprehensive renewable energy policy.
There will be excellent opportunities for filming and photographing clean energy supporters and speakers at the rally.
Debbie Dooley, Green Tea Coalition, and Dr. Stephen A. Smith, Executive Director of Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) will be available to take questions from the media today at 1:00PM EST. Dooley, a national Tea Party figure, will take this opportunity to explain why she’s getting involved in this important issue in Florida.
A copy of today’s teleconference can be heard here.
