Florida’s Gulf Shores beaches covered in oil
Stephen Smith, seen here on Monday, June 28, 2010 — first walking alongNational Seashore on Perdido Key with tar balls as far as the eye can see, and then visiting the beach just west of Gulf Shores where said a strong diesel smell hung in the air and a thick reddish oily slick on the water left its devastating mark on the previously pristine shoreline.
