Clean Energy Group to Speak at Coal Ash Movie Premiere in Nashville

Knoxville, Tenn. – On Sunday, April 20, a documentary entitled Blackout: On Swan Pond will premiere at the Nashville Film Festival (NaFF). The documentary chronicles the events leading up to and following the Kingston coal ash spill, which released 1.1 billion gallons of toxic waste on to Tennessee’s Swan Pond community and into the Emory River just before Christmas in 2008.

WHO: Southern Alliance for Clean Energy Executive Director Dr. Stephen A. Smith will share his thoughts about the film during the live panel discussion following the viewing and will be available to speak to media before and after the screening.
