Tallahassee, Fla., (October 14, 2014) – At a tele press conference on Thursday, October 16, Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, Earthjustice and Clean Water Action will call for the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) to reject the outrageous request by the state’s biggest power company, Florida Power & Light (FPL), for customers to fund its lobbying against the Waters of the US EPA-proposed rule. The request is not only inconsistent with statute, but FPL’s lobbying efforts could imperil the future protection of Florida’s wetlands. Wetlands are critically important to clean water, flood protection, storm surge protection and aquifer recharge.

WHAT: A coalition of environmental / clean water / clean energy groups will discuss the danger of FPL’s request and why the Florida PSC should reject it.

WHEN: THURSDAY, October 16, 11:00 a.m. EST
