Clean energy and water groups to live-tweet, be on hand for comment

Advocates plan to attend and speak at the Alabama Public Service Commission’s (PSC) annual informal meeting regarding Alabama Power’s spending on environmental compliance. The PSC already approved charging ratepayers for the utility’s environmental plan, which includes nearly $1.3 billion to be spent over five years, mostly for coal ash handling. This meeting is the only opportunity the PSC offers for the public to ask questions about Alabama Power’s choices affecting the environment, and the costs of those choices.

WHEN: 9:30am Tuesday, December 13, 2016
WHERE: Carl L. Evans Chief Administrative Law Judge Hearing Complex, Room 900, 100 North Union St. Montgomery, AL

The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) and other advocates for clean energy, clean water, and clean air will be present to ask questions of Alabama Power. We will also live-tweet from @cleanenergyorg and be available to members of the media for comment.
In past years the agenda has focused on presentations by Alabama Power, allowing about an hour of public Q&A before the meeting concluded around 1pm.
