Webinar: Unlocking the Full Potential of Solar and Energy Storage in Florida
- This event has passed.
November 12, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Join us November 12 from 1 PM – 2:30 PM ET to learn about what Florida municipal utilities are doing to expand solar energy and the role of storage and other strategies for reaching the high penetration levels of solar PV expected with aggressive clean energy goals.
No one can deny the strong demand for solar power in the Sunshine State. Both utility-scale and rooftop solar installations continue to grow in Florida. This webinar will provide technical insights on significantly expanding the use of solar PV and energy storage in Florida.
Included will be an overview of solar expansion and characteristics of the solar resource in Florida, energy storage for ramp mitigation, capacity value of solar and storage, balancing and reserves considerations for high penetration solar PV, and a look at distributed generation growth in Florida.
Results presented are associated with a State Energy Strategies project funded in part by the U.S. Department of Energy, Solar Energy Technologies Office. Partners in the project are all the Florida municipal electric utilities, the Florida Municipal Electric Association, the State of Florida Office of Energy, the National Renewable Energy Lab, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (host of this webinar), and Nhu Energy (project lead).
A recording will be sent to registered participants following the conversation.
