Webinar: Hands Across the Sand 2021
- This event has passed.
May 15, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Hands Across the Sand will take place virtually this year on Saturday, May 15 at 11 AM CT! It’s the twelfth annual day of action where communities around the country and across the world join with their neighbors to show support for protecting the coast against the impacts of risky offshore drilling.

Offshore drilling threatens our coastal economies, environment, and quality of life. Oil-free beaches support billions of dollars of income and employment for hundreds of thousands of people in the Southeast and must be protected for today’s generation and future ones. It’s no wonder that given the huge risks of offshore drilling, coastal communities overwhelmingly oppose offshore oil drilling.
Join with your neighbors virtually on Saturday, May 15, to “draw a line in the sand,” and hear from the Hands Across the Sands founder, myself, organizers, and others about what it means to join hands against fossil fuels and promote clean energy!
It’s up to us to show our elected officials that expanding offshore drilling off our coast is a bad idea. It is local opposition to drilling that caused the previous presidential administration to shelf its drilling expansion plans, and showing more local opposition to drilling will help make the case for protecting our coasts forever!
